This year COLLDENSE sponsored the International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi” Summer School on Soft Matter Self-Assembly. The course took place in the spectacular setting of Varenna, Italy, from 28 June to 7 July 2015 and focussed on presenting current and exciting research into self-assembly in soft condensed matter physics. Prominent researchers in the field gave lectures covering the most recent subjects and problems, accompanied by seminars that offered a detailed look at individual research efforts.
Ten of our COLLDENSE PhD students were in Varenna to take part in the course, presenting posters and attending lectures and seminars. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to meet and to engage with the Soft Matter scientific community, with plenty of networking possibilities. The course provided students with an extensive insight into soft matter self-assembly and up-to-date research endeavours.
