PhD positions in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Network COLLDENSE
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Training Network COLLDENSE, focused on soft-condensed-matter science, is seeking candidates for 15 PhD student positions at the 7 universities and 2 industrial laboratories involved. Students will work on experimental and theoretical projects in the physics of colloidal materials. They will participate in a cutting-edge training program including a summer school, several specialised courses, and industrial internships, enjoying intense interaction with leading researchers in the field from both the EU and overseas.

Researchers in charge of experimental (E) and theoretical (T) COLLDENSE PhD projects include:

For details on each project, contact the researcher-in-charge or see Project Titles.

Candidates should hold a MS in physics, chemistry or a related field. They should demonstrate dedication to research. Some experience with soft-matter experimental techniques and/or scientific programming is advantageous. The successful candidates will receive a competitive salary as well as additional funds for career development and mobility and travel allowances as stipulated by the provisions of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Please note that COLLDENSE Network aims to promote mobility and therefore applicants who are nationals and/or residents of a project’s country cannot be considered for that project.

COLLDENSE Network will be launched 1 January 2015. This call is open until the positions are filled and candidates are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience. To apply, send a single pdf file to the researcher-in charge of choice, containing i) a CV, ii) list of publications (where applicable), iii) expression of interest, and iv) the names of two or more references. Candidates applying for multiple positions are asked to indicate this in the application. For more information contact COLLDENSE coordinator Dr. Sofia Kantorovich.

COLLDENSE Network is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups, to whom preference will be given when equally qualified.
