COLLDENSE Annual Meeting 2017
November 13 - November 16
The COLLDENSE annual meeting will be from Monday, November 13th, to Thursday, November 16th, 2017 and it will take place at the Department of Physics, University of Vienna. The sessions will usually start at 9 am and they will finish at approx. 6 pm.
On the first two days, there will be training sessions dedicated to computer simulations and soft skills; followed by talks from ESRs and invited speakers on Wednesday and Thursday. Each ESR will give a short talk about their scientific progress of 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and answers (in total approx. 20 mins).
Training sessions for PhDs students
- Monday (Nov. 13): Beginning at 9 am.
Topic of this day: Molecular dynamics simulations (basics of molecular dynamics, particle modeling, constraints, hydrodynamics)
- Tuesday (Nov. 14):
Soft skills & soft matter (fundraising & open access, training for academic writing and publishing, theory of inhomogeneous fluids)
- Wednesday (Nov. 15): Talks of ESRs
- Thursday (Nov. 16): Talks of ESRs
On these two days also talks of PIs and invited speakers are planned.
The meeting will end at approx. 6 pm.
